Biography
John Maziuk
Chemical Engineer | Environmental Focus
Specific achievements have been the technical development of sodium carbonate/bicarbonate compounds, peroxide chemicals such as peracetic acid and sodium percarbonate to optimize their application, improve the quality of the earth’s air and water/wastewater without contributing to its pollution while demonstrating their effectiveness. Wrote and presented more than twenty-six technical papers on the uses of commercialized chemical products in their respective application areas. The paper/presentations were published, given at technical seminars and at professional conferences with the purpose of sharing on-site data collected and educating the public about the new products and the most effective and optimal way to use them. The markets were primarily in the industrial, commercial and municipal arenas focusing on process improvement and pollution control. Member of Water Environmental Federation (WEF) Disinfection and Public Health Committee and the WEF Program Committee. Authored the updated USEPA Fact Sheet for the use of PAA for Wastewater Disinfection. The Solvay contact for the CRADA with the USEPA for the study of the use of PAA for Stormwater/Wastewater Disinfection comparing PAA with NaHOCl. Chemical Engineer with decades of experience in the chemical industry ranging from R&D process and application development to field sales. Hold seven patents (sole inventor of 4) regarding the optimal use and/or combination of major new commercial bicarbonate/carbonate products in the air and water treatment market.
